Heart Healthy Foods that LOWER cholesterol??
FIBER & Beyond Cookies use natural ingredients to not only lower cholesterol but actually help it! Plant sterols (1.3 g per serving) block absorption of cholesterol, while soluble fibers (4 grams per serving) carry cholesterol and saturated fat out of the body. The unique recipe also helps the body pull cholesterol from the blood to use for key body functions.
How much can FIBER & Beyond Cookies lower my cholesterol?
In October 2006 and May 2007, the Journal of Nutritionreported individuals eating two FIBER & Beyond Cookies daily for four weeks lowered their LDL cholesterol an average of 10%. Many current daily users of FIBER & Beyond Cookies have seen cholesterol reductions of as much as 20% to 26%!
How does it work?
Each Fiber & Beyond Cookie for Heart Health uses the following ingredients in optimal amounts to lower cholesterol naturally:
- plant sterols
- psyllium husk fiber
- whole oats
- Fat
When consumed, several things happen in the body!
- The cookie goes into the stomach and down through the large and small intestines. During this time, psyllium husk fiber and the fiber from the oats attract fat and fluids and grab onto them, swelling into a gel and cleaning the GI tract as it passes through.
- When the cookies reach the small intestine, enzymes help break down the digestible portions of the cookie for the body to use for energy and other functions. When the body realizes there is fat in the small intestine, the gall bladder releases bile into the small intestine to help to break the fat down for absorption.
- Because of the properties of the psyllium and oat fibers, much of the fat is stuck on the fibers and will not get digested. Saturated fat is one of the biggest sources of too much cholesterol in the blood so this is one way to avoid more cholesterol being produced and going into the blood steam.
- The bile that was released into the small intestine typically breaks down any fat into small particles that can be absorbed through the walls of the intestines to be used in the body for energy and other functions.
- In the case of FIBER & Beyond Cookies, when the bile finishes breaking down the fat, both the bile and fat get trapped in the fiber of the psyllium and oats. Since fiber cannot be digested by the human body, it leaves the body in the stool, taking the attached fat and bile with it.
- Normally when bile breaks down fat for absorption it is also reabsorbed and then travels back to the liver to be used again. But when bile is removed regularly, the body needs to make more to be available for the breakdown of fat.
- The body has mechanisms to make more bile. One of the main components of bile is cholesterol. When more bile is needed, the body will automatically pull cholesterol from the blood. The cholesterol travels to the liver to make more bile. This is an important key to lowering cholesterol naturally.
Fiber & Beyond Cookies not only begin the process for the body to naturally pull cholesterol from the arteries, but have been shown clinically to pull out the worst kind of cholesterol – the smallest particles of LDL – the ones that form plaque and can cause hardening of the arteries.
